Int. Architect (6) appointed for
New Law Courts to be erected on the site formerly occupied by the old Government Offices, Murray House, &c.
June show affords a view of the Buildings all on the site on which it is proposed to erect the New Law Courts. The Prince's Buildings are in course of erection and the scaffolding is still up. Queen's Buildings cost upwards of $400,000 - say Four hundred thousand Dollars, and Prince's Buildings will before completion cost upwards of $600,000 - say Six hundred thousand Dollars, both exclusive of the land on which they are built. These handsome and most serviceable buildings have been designed and their construction has been and is being supervised by local Architects. The building of the New Law Courts is estimated to cost over $400,000 - say Four hundred thousand Dollars, but they would be much less expensive, much more serviceable, and much more expeditiously constructed if entrusted to local Architects.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient servant,
I. Whitehead
